Max Day

UK

Max Day has been performing with Rambert for the past 4 seasons. Before that they were in the very first cohort of Rambert2. Max is originally from Hong Kong, but moved multiple times before settling in London. They have trained at Singapore Dance Academy, Australian Ballet School and Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance (London). Receiving a BA (Hons) in Ballet and Contemporary Dance and a MA in Professional Dance Performance.

Before moving and settling in London, Max was awarded the Big Brother Movement's 'Global Footprints Scholarship' to explore dance abroad. This award allowed Max to expand their knowledge from Sydney to London.

Whilst in Rambert2 Max got the opportunity to work and perform Ohad Naharin's 'Kamuyot', Rafael Bonachela's 'E27SD', Sharon Eyal's 'Killer Pig' and Benoit Swan Puffer's 'Grey Matter'. Max is hugely grateful for that year in Rambert2, as it formed the core foundations to their artistry.

After moving into Rambert's first company Max performed Wayne McGregors 'PreSentient', Hofesh Shecters 'In Your Rooms' and Alonzo Kings 'Following the Subtle Current Up Stream'. Max also enjoyed creating and touring some of Rambert's newer creations. 'Invisible Cities' by Sidi Larbi Cherkoui, 'Eye Candy' by Imre Van Opstal and Marne Van Opstal and 'Draw From Within' by Wim Vandekaybus.

Max has also gotten great commercial opportunities. Starring in Selfridges 2019 article ‘New Beginnings’. Featured in the short film ‘All the World’s Alive Again’ promoted by Nowness. Photographed alongside Naomi Cambell for Vogue World 2024, in July’s issue of British Vogue.
